Itinerary:

This trail is the less-strenuous section of the Kennesaw Battlefield, though there are a few hills that will get heart rates up. It will be a fairly easy hike but done at a moderate pace. Beginners are definitely welcome. There will be no mountain climbing and the terrain is fairly level and not too challenging.

We'll meet at the parking lot off of Burnt Hickory. There is limited parking so give yourself time in case you have to wait a few minutes for someone to leave. We will leave on time!  HEELS at 6:30!  I'm also keeping the group on the small side because of the limited parking.

We will leave from the parking area, take the west loop towards the water and we will have a nice stroll along the water, then across the bridge and back in the woods making our way towards Dallas Highway. When we get to the road, we'll turn around and take the fire trail back towards Burnt Hickory and will cross over the same bridge again.

We'll allow up to three people with dogs on this hike.  If you see that three people are already bringing dogs, please do not add yours to the group.

Please carefully read the excerpt from nps.gov regarding dogs at KM:

Dogs are welcome on the battlefield grounds but they must be on a leash no more than 6 feet in length and under the owners physical restraint at all times. Please be mindful of where dogs stop, curb your dog to help keep Kennesaw Mountain clean for ALL visitors. Please pick up anything they leave behind with mutt mits that are free and in dispensers in all parking areas.
