Itinerary:

This will be a moderate paced hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park. We will complete a 7 mile on the white, red and yellow trails. This is a fun and scenic hike very close to town. We will start on the White trail, which passes through a remote area of the park over to Jack's Lake and then meets up with the Red and Blue trails at the falls. We will continue on the red trail, hiking along the rapids of the creek, and a large Civil War mill ruin. We will complete our hike on the Yellow trail loop.

This hike will be moderately paced. I intend to keep the pace at 3.0 miles an hour. There are a couple of intersections on the trails so you must be able to keep pace with the group.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Sweetwater Creek State Park hiking trail parking lot near the visitor center: Take I-20 west from Atlanta, exit #44 at Thornton Road, turn left and go 1/4 mile. Turn right on Blairs Bridge Road, go 2 miles and turn left on Mount Vernon Road. Travel a couple more miles and into the park. Just after crossing over the lake, look for a sign that says hiking/nature trails, and take a left there (there is a small entry gate). Continue straight to the end of the road to the parking area.
