Itinerary:

This hike will preceed the Sunset hike (listed as separate and later event) at Stone Mountain.  We're going to complete the Cherokee trail loop at moderate to fast pace with limited resting stops along way. This hike is not for the faint of heart. Please make sure you have endurance to stay with the group and complete event. I will be racing against time to start the next event at 7:15pm, so the event will not lend itself to holding the group up for folks that lags behind.  We will be meeting to start and conclude this event in front of Confederate Hall restroom area

The hike will be approximately 5.5 miles and may involve some wet, uneven and/or steep sections so consider appropriate footwear.

You can bring your dog, but note that you will not be able to take your dog on the walk-up trail to see the sunset, Should you decide to sign up for that event as well. So, keep that in mind when you sign up. You may have to leave your pet in the car or skip the sunset portion of the event.

Free parking is available at Stone Mountain Village. It is less than a half mile walk to the park and the West entrance gate is near our meeting area.

There's a trail that leads into Stone Mountain Park from Stone Mountain Village. The trail is next to the Stone Mountain Visitor center Gazebo/Police Station parking lot on Main street. Once you get to the paved surface in the park, turn left and go under the rail overpass to get to Confederate Hall.

If you have any questions please contact Hakeem.
