Itinerary:

I'm excited to have Andrea co-lead this Kennesaw hike with me as she continues to fulfill her requirements to become an AOC Trip Leader.  She will have her gold star in short order!

We'll take a moderate pace as we cross Big and Little Kennesaw Mountains and continue over Pigeon Hill to Burnt Hickory Road;  then we'll reverse ourselves and return over Pigeon Hill, Little Kennesaw,  and Big Kennesaw Mountains to the Visitor's Center.

This D4 hike is used by trip leaders as a gauge of a person's ability to handle possible D5 events;  therefore, in order to get credit for this hike, it is imperative that people go the entire distance.  This is not a fitness hike, so a fast pace isn't required.  Be aware, however, that even at a moderate pace, the elevation demands of this hike require a considerable degree of stamina.  This is definitely not an event for someone who is not in good physical shape.

Andrea will set the pace for the faster folks out front;  Joyce will sweep the group. So whether fast or slow, no one will be left behind.

We will start promptly at 9:30 am. Please arrive early enough to get a parking space, use the bathroom, and meet the group before that time.  The Visitor's Center lot tends to fill up fast, so be sure you allow time to park at the auxiliary parking lot down Old 41 - - about 1/4 mile from the Visitor's Center.

We will meet at the canon in front of the Visitor's Center.
