Come on out and join us for our annual AOC HOLIDAY SOCIAL

It's our biggest social of the year and it's being held at:

East Andrews Upstairs
56 East Andrews Drive
Atlanta, GA 30305

Date: Tuesday, December 10th, 2013

Time: Starts at 7 pm, so don't miss the fun.

Desserts are being provided by our AOC members.

We'll be introducing the 2014 Executive team and Member Ambassadors.

Once again, we'll be participating in the Toys for Tots program sponsored by the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve. Their mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. We are hoping that our AOC members can help them with their mission.

We will also be collecting non-perishable food items for the Atlanta Community Food Bank

The Holiday season is about giving and we would like to ask our members and/or guests to help donate food for the Atlanta Community Food Bank...

Items needed and accepted are as follows:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Tuna
  • Canned Beans
  • Canned Soups, Stews and Pastas
  • 100% Fruit Juice
  • Canned Fruits and Vegetables
  • Macaroni and Cheese Dinners
  • Whole Grain, Low Sugar Cereals

(Please make sure all food items are non-perishable)

So bring your donated items to the AOC Holiday social, drop your items in our provided donation bins and we'll deliver to the Atlanta Community Food bank.. It's that simple, but hope you can help!

Raffle tickets:

We have some cool prizes to giveaway this year and some of our supporters include: High Country Outfitters, Appalachian Outfitters, Stone Summit, Escalade Rock Climbing Gym and Lookout Mountain Flight Park

We'll be giving out raffle tickets based on events attended in 2013.  If you are an active member of the Atlanta Outdoor Club, then your opportunity for raffle prizes increases as follows:

- If you have attended 1-5 events, you will receive 2 raffle tickets.

- If you have attended 6-10 events, then you will receive 5 raffle tickets

- If you have attended 10 or more events, then you will receive 8 tickets

(Please note that socials, learn, and charity events do not count as an event)

Here's a chance to earn more raffle tickets...

- Bring a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots and earn 1 extra raffle ticket

- Bring an item(s) to donate to the Atlanta Food Bank and earn 1 extra raffle ticket

- Bring a dessert item to share with your fellow AOC'ers and earn 1 extra raffle ticket

In addition to our numerous outdoor events (ie, hiking, backpacking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, caving, etc.), the Atlanta Outdoor Club has a monthly gathering. This is a great opportunity to meet and network with fellow club members, officers and trip leaders. We will also be announcing the club's new officers for 2014. It's a casual setting, which allows everyone to mingle around and talk about the great outdoors.

Come see why the Atlanta Outdoor Club is truly Atlanta's Premier Outdoor Club!

How about the Check Please!!!: We have our own bar and will have "cocktail service" for the evening. This means the wait staff will split out the bill per person*.

* When you show up, place your order at the bar. The East Andrews staff will take your credit card and hold your tab open or let you pay by cash per drink. This not only allows you to move about the area freely, but also allows you to pay your tab if you need to leave early with no hassles because you don't have to wait until the group bill shows up!

Drinking Responsibly: The Atlanta Outdoor Club encourages responsible drinking.

Your hosts for the evening will more than likely include a few of the following:

  • Clay White - President
  • Lauren Jacobsen - Vice President
  • Chris Bolton - Vice President
  • Michelle Spence - Director of Recruitment and Social Activities
  • Eva DeVallescar - Member Ambassador
  • Joyce Taaffe - Member Ambassador
  • AND of course many of our awesome Trip Leaders and other Volunteers!!
