Itinerary:

Let's make the most of this gorgeous fall weather and enjoy a stroll around Piedmont Park and along the Eastside Beltline.

We will meet promptly at 10:30 a.m. at the 14th Street gate in Piedmont Park.  This gate can be found at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue and 14th Street.  Please give yourself plenty of time to get here, especially if you are not familiar with the neighborhood.

There is paid parking on Piedmont nearby, or you can take your chances with Park Atlanta and park on one of the side streets. (I do not advise this option, but if you do use it, please pay careful attention to signs and parking meters.  Those tickets are not cheap.)  If you take MARTA to the park, the closest station is Arts Center.  Google Maps is great at telling you how to find things via MARTA, or you can email me for tips.

Since this event is on a Saturday, we'll make our first stop the Piedmont Park Green Market where we can purchase some fresh fruits, veggies, and handmade goodies.  If we're lucky we might catch a free cooking demonstation or some live music.  (Just remember you will have to carry whatever you buy unless you eat it on the spot).  After spending a few minutes here, we will make a loop around Piedmont Park past highlights including the Promenade, Peregrine Point, and the Legacy Fountain.  Then we will hop onto the future Beltline section which will lead us over to the paved Eastside Trail.  We will walk the Eastside Trail until we hit Irwin Street, where we will stop at the Irwin Street Market and grab lunch or snacks.

After our stop at Irwin Street, we will double back along the Eastside Trail section and reenter Piedmont Park on the 10th Street side, then walk back to the 14th Street gate.

The total distance will be approximately 7 miles.
