Itinerary:

We will cover about 5 miles at a fast pace as we hike on the outer loop and a few of the inner trails here at Gold Branch. There are a few steep hills through the woods that will let us get our fitness groove on and we will also trek through some lowlands skirting around Bull Sluice Lake and on the banks of the Chattahoochee. Wildlife viewing opportunities are good on these quiet trails and we may see herons, geese, ducks, turtles, snakes, and deer.

Please arrive early for introductions as we will leave promptly at 6:15 pm. This is a fast paced hike and is not intended for beginner hikers. I anticipate that we will finish this hike in under 2 hours.

Just a reminder - there is no restroom here and there is a $3 parking fee if you don't have a CNRA pass.

Did You Know?  Great Blue Herons stand up to four feet tall and have special feathers that dissolve into powder. They use a serrated middle claw to distribute the powder which they use for preening or cleaning themselves.
