Itinerary:

I want to Thank John Weatherman. This is his original event I am copying. Some say Table Rock offers the best views in the East.  I don't know if that's true or not, but I can say it's up there.  Come see what you think.

In the past we have done this hike with Pinnacle Mountain included. This time, we decided to forgo that part, in order to make the event accessible to D-4 hikers.

Table Rock Mountain is on the front of the Blue Ridge escarpment in SC, and offers an unimpeded view out across the SC piedmont.  We will begin our hike at the Nature Center in the park at 1160 feet and go via the the Carrick Creek Trail and the Table Rock Trail to the top of the park's eponymous mountain at 3124 feet.

We start out along some scenic streams with pools and waterfalls, and then go up stone steps installed by men of the CCC during the first Great Depression.

At the half-way point we will be at the CCC trailside shelter where we will wait for the slower hikers to catch up with the front group.

Continuing our way up we will come to Governor's Rock. That will give us some good views and it will be a great place for lunch.

Then it is on to Table Rock itself, where we will hang out for a bit while we enjoy the views and the breeze. There are two overlooks there, and we will go to both. From the 'front', we look out over Table Rock Reservoir towards Ceasar's Head and on a clear day, we can see downtown Greenville, SC. From the 'back', we can see a distant waterfall in the NC mountains.

Then we go back down the same way we came up.
