The Cooper Furnace Trail follows the route of a 19th century mining railroad bed through a mixed pine and hardwood forest. It features a vast variety of trees, shrubs and wildflowers. Wildlife is abundant here. A natural feature of interest is a pond inhabited by beaver and muskrat.

The Laurel Ridge Trail crosses the slopes of a mixed pine and hardwood ridge overlooking the Etowah River Valley. Along the way see an abundance of mountain laurel and 32 varieties of identified trees.
