Looking for a trail run to start your New Year?  Well...Springer on!  Join us for this 16 mile scenic loop trail run to Springer Mountain and back!

For some runners and crazy runners,  this trail run will be a simple morning jog through the woods, maneuvering over tree roots, rocks, and dodging tree branches...and for others, a sweaty and intense meat grinder run!  The trail running speed will depend on your level of endurance and running capability, with some hiking at times - you will sweat!

NOTE:  This trail run is not intended for beginner runners or pure hikers, but for those distance trail runners with  worn out running shoes and missing toe nails - you get the message :) .  In addition, there is always a possibility of tripping and falling on rocks, tree roots, etc. during this run through the woods.

We will plan to start the run from the top of the Amicalola Falls and trail run the AT Approach to Springer Mountain and back.  On our way back, we will stop at the Len Foote Hike Inn for a few minutes to wipe the sweat off and refill our water bottle/hydration pack.  We will continue back on the Len Foote Trail to the car parking lot.  We should be back in Atlanta early afternoon.

Trip leaders will provide some cold juice, bananas, and bagels for our finishing reward!

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up.
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.
(But, unless you're a runner, you won't understand.)"
