Itinerary:

Join us for Pioneer camping (a.k.a. car camping) at Cloudland Canyon. Cloudland is located in the Northwest corner of Georgia. It offers beautiful views and two cascading waterfalls at the bottom of a gorge cut by Sitton Gulch Creek.

Plan on enjoying nature, sleeping outdoors, sitting around a fire telling tales and joining in our campfire sing alongs lead by super group BMW. If you have an instrument feel free to bring it along.

We have two campsites to give us plenty of tent space. Each campsite has a large covered pavilion, running water, fire rings, a shelter and a pit toilet. A Comfort Station with hot showers and flushing toilets is a short drive to another part of the park if you must have it.

Our plan is to arrive Friday anytime after 1pm, gates are locked at 10:00pm. We'll set up camp, grill up some hamburgers and hotdogs and enjoy our camp fire entertainment. If you can't make it Friday afternoon, your welcome to join us Saturday morning.

Saturday, we will have a hearty breakfast and head out on an hike. We will hike the 4.8 mile West Rim Trail with beautiful vistas of the canyon and rugged geology. We will have lunch overlooking the countryside some 2000 feet below. Following the hike, for those interested  with energy to spare, we will brave the infamous stairs down into the gorge to view two gorgeous waterfalls cascading into large pools (assuming there has been rain).

The remainder of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Later, we will enjoy a hearty meal prepared by Chef Wynn, relax around the fire and enjoy more musical entertainment. Sunday, it's a light breakfast and pack for home.

Our goal is to have everyone pitch in to help cook and clean up afterwards.  Because of the large group size on this trip, I will be e-mailing out a sign-up list to keep us all organized.  If you do not eat Hambugers, hotdogs, steak or fish please let us know in the notes section when you register for the trip.

We will have plenty of evening snacks and desserts to go along with our campfire. It just doesn't get any better! Join us for the first classic pioneer camping trip!

*PLEASE NOTE: expect late nights, loud people, a little dog slobber, and an awesome weekend!
