Itinerary:

A short one hour drive from downtwn Atlanta brings you to our next PIoneer camping event at Red Top Mountain n Acworth, GA. Being so close to Atlanta we are sure to have a full event.

Plan on enjoying nature, sleeping outdoors, sitting around a fire telling tales, and joining in our evening gatherings filled with great conversation and fire side music. If you have an instrument feel free to bring it along and join the fun. Red Top also offers many activities to create an exciting outdoor weekend. Hiking, swimming, kayaking, mountain biking, fishing and more.

Our site is located privately on the lake and has water, pit toilets, a picnic pavilion, 3 picnic tables, and a fire ring. There is no electricity.  This is pioneer camping (aka car camping), so feel free to bring all your luxury camping gear...large tents, air mattresses, coolers, reclining camp chairs and more...all are welcome.. A Comfort Station with hot showers and flushing toilets is a short drive to another part of the park if you must have it.

Our plan is to arrive Friday anytime after 1pm, gates are locked at 10:00pm. We'll set up camp, grill up some hamburgers and hotdogs and enjoy our camp fire. If you can't make it Friday afternoon, your welcome to join us Saturday morning.

Saturday, we will have a hearty breakfast, eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit, bacon, and more bacon. After breakfast we head out on an hike or, you can partake in an outdoor activity of your choosing. Following your activty, consider a jump in the lake for a refreshing cool down!

The remainder of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. In the early evening we will savor a hearty meal - steak and salmon have been our tradition.  Following the feast, the plan is to relax around the fire and enjoy more AOC camaraderie and fellowship.  Sunday, it's a light breakfast and pack for our short drive home.

Our goal is to have everyone pitch in to help clean up Sunday morning. If you do not eat hambugers, hotdogs, steak or fish please let us know in the notes section when you register for the trip.

As usual each camper is reponsible to bring 2 bundles of firewood to contribute to our camp fire. All well behaved dogs are welcome; please keep control of your dog at all times.
