This hike was almost canceled due to the torrential rain that began with our last hike and continued right up until start time for this fifth hike. Many members cancelled before getting to the park, but we decided to wait for a few minutes, and miraculously, the rain stopped completely, allowing us to get in a good 5.5 mile hike. The trails were extremely wet, with some big puddles to negotiate, but we all managed without a slip.

Our hike began with a turtle (albeit an ugly snapping turtle) and ended with a turtle (a cute box turtle with a very clean shell).

What a nice group to end the day with! And congratulations to the four who accompanied me on all the hikes: Amy Y., Gerrilyn B., Greg W., and Mike C. ~ Joyce
