After all the agonizing over the weather, Saturday turned out to be perfect for hiking. Although it was 80 down below, on the mountain it was so cool at lunch sweaters came out. As the afternoon wore on, a vigorous breeze sprang up and escorted us for much of the way. That did not, however, eliminate the need for a beer, which we enjoyed twice over. The elevation gain of 3800 ft ensured a good workout. We said we would do the hike again once the leaves are down to catch the winter views.
