A strong group of hikers including several brand new members made our way around the "trails" that loop the river at East and West Palisades.  Early on in the hike the new members must have been wondering what they were getting into when the trip leader managed to get him self stuck knee deep in mud.  After that things went smoother and every one(including the trip leader) did great navigating through the rest of the hike easily scrambling over rocks and fallen trees.
