Itinerary:

Join us for Pioneer camping (a.k.a. car camping) at Fort Mountain. Fort Mountain State Park is a 3,712 acre Georgia state park located between Chatsworth and Ellijay on Fort Mountain. The state park was founded in 1938 and is named for an ancient 885 foot long rock wall located on the peak

Plan on enjoying nature, sleeping outdoors, sitting around a fire telling tales and joining in our campfire sing alongs lead by super group BMW. If you have an instrument feel free to bring it along.

We have two campsites to give us plenty of tent space. Each campsite has a large covered pavilion, running water, fire rings, a shelter and a pit toilet. A Comfort Station with hot showers and flushing toilets is a short drive to another part of the park if you must have it.

Our plan is to arrive Friday anytime after 1pm, gates are locked at 10:00pm. We'll set up camp, grill up some hamburgers and hotdogs and enjoy our camp fire entertainment. If you can't make it Friday afternoon, your welcome to join us Saturday morning.

Saturday, we will have a hearty breakfast and head out on an hike on the Gahuti trail. We will cook up left overs from Friday Nights dinner for those hungry after a big breakfast.

Mountain Biking Option w/Grant: I will be planning to do a ride on Saturday around some of the many loop trails in the park.  There are many options to choose from and we can discuss it for whoever wants to pedal!

Saturday evening we will enjoy a hearty meal, relax around the fire and enjoy more musical entertainment. Sunday, it's a light breakfast and pack for home.

Our goal is to have everyone pitch in to help cook and clean up afterwards.  Because of the large group size on this trip, please plan on stepping up and helping where needed.  If you have special diet considerations, please let us know in the notes section when you register for the trip. We will do our best to accomidate you.

We will have plenty of evening snacks and desserts to go along with our campfire. It just doesn't get any better! Join us for the first classic pioneer camping trip!

There is a $5.00 Park Fee (pay at the park!) unless you have an Annual Park Pass!

*PLEASE NOTE: expect late nights, loud people, and an awesome weekend!
