Itinerary:

The Bartram trail runs for 35 miles in Georgia and follows the approximate route of 18th century naturalist William Bartram's southern journey. Join me as I explore 3 seldom hiked sections of this iconic trail.

Part I Osage Overlook to Rabun Bald

Part II Warwoman Dell to Dicks Creek Falls

Part II Bartram TH to Dicks Creek Falls (coming soon)

Part II - Warwoman Dell to Dicks Creek Falls

This hike starts at Warwoman Dell... this is the same trailhead that is used for the classic AOC event - Pinnacle Knob. While Pinnacle Knob is to the north, we will be heading south. For the first 4.5 miles we will be headed up and up to the top of an unnamed mountain, after the climb we are rewarded with a 4.5 mile (mostly) descent to Dicks Creek. A spur trail joins us here that will take us along Dicks Creek to the Chatooga River and the site of Dicks Creek Falls. We will enjoy the views, a swim and our lunch here before retracing our steps back to our cars.

This is a long hike with about 4400 feet of elevation gain and overall we should average around 2.8 mph, this is on the fast side of moderate.

Recent D6 experience is required to join the fun. I reserve the right to move under-experienced adventurers to the waiting list.
