On a beautiful spring day, 13 AOC hikers set out to loop the Gahuti Trail. The trails were abundant with a variety of wildflowers including Wild Geranium, Mayapple, Azalea, Eastern Sweetshrub, Trillium and Pink-and-white Lady's-slipper orchids. After admiring the wonderful eastern overlook the group took the North Stone Tower Trail around the peak to the western overlook. The western overlook provided the group with stunning views of the surrounding area including Chatsworth to the west and Grassy and Bald Mountain to the north. The group chowed down on lunch while enjoying the view. After finishing their PB&J and other, rather more elaborate sandwiches, the group continued via the West Overlook Trail and merged back onto the Gahuti Trail. After several more miles of hiking the hikers were able to relax for a few minutes at a lovely cascade. Well, some hikers spent their time trying to find a lost pair of sunglasses that fell into the water. With the day warming up, all were feeling the miles under their feet. The last mile of the hike tested the resolve of our hikers but a little elevation gain couldn't stop the group from completing the Gahuti Trail!

GPS reports 9.2 miles and about 1500 feet of elevation.
