Write Up:

Ten tanned trekkers scouted the center section with seven (or eight) hills at Kennesaw Battlefield Park.  We were saved from the blazing late morning sun because most of the route was under forest cover.  It was pretty hot, and we had several newish members (Vera, Jenny C and Mike Z), but all were experience and fit hikers, we all had plenty of water, stopped quite a bit and indulged in 2 hours of nature immersion therapy while being surrounded by city.  We had fun and made new friends :-)  The only thing that could make this hike better is not having to cross Burnt Hickory Rd (twice) ... I'll work on that for the next edition of this hike as a hard D2 with even less signs of civilization.

Left to Right (in back), Jeff, Vera, Ron, Jenny, Doug, Janet, Trish, Marianna, Joyce T, and Mike (in front).

We also encountered a National Park Service work crew (including many volunteers) upgrading the entrance to the New Salem Church Trail and some other trail maintenance.

And thanks Joyce for taking, posting and labeling those pictures!
