Last Sunday morning, eleven of us explored some of the lesser known trails near Kennesaw Mountain.  We traveled 9 miles around the peaks in just over 3 hours and all managed to stay within sight of each other. The group photo below was taken around noon near the end of the trip when it was getting pretty hot, but we're all smiling like we could do it again :-)

And we saw some wildlife! (At least Sam did.)  Here is a turtle (or two?) discovered near the New Salam Church site where the above group photo was taken.

I think this is one of the more interesting hikes around Kennesaw because there is a lot of variety of scenery and terrain with only about 1200 ft of climbing. If we did this in the winter, it would be easier to actually get down into the CCC Quarry.
