Write Up:Another great trip with some supper friendly hikers. The Fall colors were beginning to show in the leaves. The air was cool and sky was mostly over cast with occasional breaks in the clouds. The trail was in great condition - soft and smooth, very few rocks or roots. Only once did we have to go around a downed tree. Unlike the AT, this trail offers lots of solitude and a break from the crowds. We saw no other hikers in 11 miles of hiking.
Alex, Gary, and Jonathon (his first AOC trip!) found a cool twisted tree and appropriately named it the "Witches Hand" tree. We're all looking forward to the cooler weather and more hikes this fall.
