Write Up:

All's well that ends well, is the proverb that comes to mind.   It started as a worrisome day as one of our hikers developed a health concern thirty minutes into today's hike.  A D2 hike is often thought of as a good starting point for those new to the AOC or new to hiking in general.  This hike's description clearly states that it is not for beginners and newbies are vetted to ensure the hike is appropriate for all.  At mile two ensconced in the woods away from accessible roads is not where you want to run into trouble.  Please take a moment to update your health concerns under My account/Edit your profile. Today we were lucky.  This morning only served as a gentle reminder to prepare for one's own needs.  Bring food or insulin if you are diabetic, an Epipen if allergic to bees, water just in case.  When health concerns arise let others be aware. We know the drill, but sometimes we forget. Join me in making a resolution to be fully prepared for each hike. Starting now. As it turns out, our hiker was fine and returned home safely, just the way we want every day's adventures to end, safe and sound.
