Fiery Gizzard Day Hike.

The morning started out brisk and clear for our adventuring group. After a short time of sign ins and introductions, we dispersed to our vehicles. Thankfully, Jack brought along his massive SUV and we were able to squeeze 7 people into 1 vehicle, which helped with gas costs and slightly lessening our impact on the environment.

After a couple of pit stops we finally made it up to the trailhead to meet our TN AOC member and begin our hike. Even though we took a group shot, due to Paula's malfunctioning camera the picture was MIA. Our hike was nice and moderately paced enjoying the fall colors that the trail had to offer. Our first major stop was at the Chimney formation along the trail. A brave group of hikers climbed to the top of one of the formations for quick group photo, then it was back to the trail. After a couple more points of interests and quick bouldering, we started our arduous climb. No, wait, after that, we started our arduous climb. No, REALLY, after THAT we started our arduous climb. Well, at some point we started the arduous climb to took us to Raven Point and our break for lunch.

The hike back to the cars was fairly easy without any major incident. All in all, it was a great day for hiking, we (Paula and myself) thank everyone that came along with us on this adventure.
