Quick & Dirty was the name of the game. After introducing ourselves with musings on our favorite parts of February, we took off at a fast clip through the woods. One wandering sheep caught up with the flock after hearing our raucous laughter through the trees. We kept moving quickly over six miles. We were a colorful group, literally and figuratively.

The air was still, eerily still at times, with a heavy cloudcover hanging oppressively above the trees. When we paused for a sip of water, several at the front of the group were rewarded with a glimpse of a redheaded woodpecker flitting from branch to branch ahead of us.

We shared not one but two chocolate breaks, and also shared random musings on love and Valentine's Day. As a group we climbed out onto some river rocks and spent several moments just sitting there watching the river flow. We didn't get as dirty as we'd hoped, but sometimes just a little bit dirty is just enough.
