Yep, it was hot all right. Within moments of starting our hike, we were glistening and dewy. Fortified by dreams of frosty cold ice cream, we forged ahead through the welcoming shade of the forest. With only a few breaks to catch our breath and quench our thirst, we clocked about 6 miles in 2 hours. Some of the team continued the cameraderie over lunch at North River Tavern.

Thanks to Joyce and Trish for entrusting me with this committed group of Thursday Island Ford hikers. Every single one worked hard and finished strong. And a big thank you to my fearless co-lead, Gary, who kept the back of the pack in line.
