The energizing hike at Island Ford was an excellent start to the day! AOC hiker's Pina and upcoming trip leader Gayle M.  joined me to hike and welcome out Sun, Jodi, and Florie to the AOC. It was so nice to hike with such a great group of people this morning. Our group was ultra fast for beginners! We hiked 3 miles in one hour with only a few short stops along the way for pictures. In addition to some nice views along the river, we met a turtle on the trail. He was so cute. Thanks again hikers for an excellent hike! I hope to hike with everyone again as well as meet more of our newcomers.
