This was am awesome hike! Our group of 16 including brand new member Iris hiked 3 miles on the more urban sections of West Palisades. Our group hiked from the West Palisades entrance on Cobb Pkwy. to the Rotten Wood Creek Trail, across a couple of bridges with some amazing boulders on the sides  and to the top of a rather large hill that eventually conects with the Path Trail System. Congrats and Welcome to the AOC Iris! When we were finished with the first hike, many wanted to explore the other trails along the Chattahoochee River at West Palisades. With this in mind, several of us continued on including Cindy, Mark, Norm, Dianna, Mike and Marge who hiked a few more miles along the river. The rest of us including,  Erica, Norm, Mark, and Dianna managed to hike a total of 10 miles, scramble rocks, see a Blue Heron as well as hike some of the trails that are not hiked on very often at the West Palisades. In either case, it was an awesome beginners hike with an excellent optional explorer hike afterwards. One of our newst members Mark K., survived a weekend of hikes with the AOC. Congrats and Welcome to the AOC!~ Thanks again hikers and adventurers for an awesome day of outdoor adventure!
