Write Up:
Michelle, Jennifer, Kyle and I departed promptly from ATL around nine and headed north on 85.

Since we had four bikes two vehicles were needed. It was obvious from the start the women knew where the gas peddle was located. Not stopping till the needle hit 80 they set a quick pace. We arrived with no problems whatsoever and pulled in the parking lot, stretched our legs and went inside to the interpretive center for permits and waivers. All trails were accessible and we decided to take the difficult 1000 foot trail to the gorge.

As we drove to the starting point Kyle munched on orange crackers with peanut butter. I got a whiff of the peanut butter sandwich. Next it was back to the parking lot to get another permit for the ride.

We began the bike ride together but after a few miles we split into two groups. Having a few years of riding experience Kyle and I headed off to ride the difficult trail while Michelle and Jennifer honed their skills. Kyle and I agreed we rode one of the better trails in the Atlanta area. From technical, to water crossings to steep killer ascents and long fast as hell descents: the trail had it all. Too bad we rode only five of the twenty miles! Well be back.

After rendezvousing at the parking lot everyone voted for beer. Driving back to ATL as quickly as we arrived we hit HOPS off Pleasant Hill and had dinner and a few drinks. All in all we accomplished all the items on the itinerary and had a blast!
Till the next time.....
