Happy New Year's Everyone! Today was an awesome day to hike at Sweetwater! The rain did not slow this group down. I had originally intended to have some D3 completers, but all of these guys were ready for the D4 and D5. Mike C., Aaron Lee & Catlin S completed the D4 for 9 miles in 3 hrs.  Great job! For Chuck R., Donna, Mark K, Amy, Audrey, & Mark M. we completed 13 miles in 4 1/2 hrs and gained 2076 ft of elevation for a D5! Great job D5 group!  In addition to this being the first D4 or D5 for some of the hikers, we had a great hike to start our 2017! Sweetwater is amazing after the rain when the creek is moving fast. The misty weather and fog defintely make the park very mystical looking in the rain. Sweetwater is a beautifil park. As we hiked, several of us set new hike goals including the goals of: 100 events this year, completing a D6 or 2, a couple of hikers want to complete a 1/2 marathon and a few more goals. This is going to be an exciting year filled with adventure. Thanks again hikers for an awesome day!
