Write Up:

It was a beautiful day for our Valentine's Day LTM hike which started promptly at 10, thanks to everyone again remembering their own names during introductions this week. We welcomed newcomer Jenny S to our regular Tuesday lineup. Jeff changed his name to Young Jeff so as not to be confused with old Jeff. Our hearts were pounding as we hiked the trails. Was it because of our love of hiking? Nah, it was because this hike is so d*mn fast with Laura and Young Jeff leading the way. The trails were nice and dry. The most strenuous part of the hike was the climb to Leita Thompson's house, which we passed by twice. There were no discernible signs of activity in the house so we concluded that Leita was still deceased. Also, there were no sightings of wildlife today but Leigh spotted her favorite jogger twice. Dan was disappointed that Poodle Lady wasn't walking today (she does have nice poodles). We ended up doing between 6.5 and 6.8 miles in two hours. Afterwards, six of us went to Panera for good food, conversation and to be one visit closer to the next reward. Tonight as the sun is setting, our hearts will be pounding again as we race to be at our computers promptly at 6 in order to sign up for next week's hike within the 90 seconds or so that it takes to fill up. (There's talk of making the sign up an AOC event.) ~Bob R.
