What a crazy day - weather wise,  hike wise, trail wise!  Started off with some clouds, had some sprinkles, the sun made a brief appearance and than back to the clouds and wind!  It was windy today!  We did part urban - park trail hiking today due to the conditions of the trails.  The four inches of rain last night made for some rather wet conditons - little streams flowing where no streams have flowed before.  At the bottom of our big warm up hill, the ground was giving way - Jose states that it was caused by hydrostatic pressure from the amount of water  under the soil from the hill above.  We thought maybe Island Ford was going to experience a sink hole!   We had water bubbles:) The river was exceedingly high - higher than what we saw last winter.  But through it all, we did maintain a rather steady pace and got in a great hike.  Thanks to you all for joining us! ~ Carol
