Write Up:
All started off well for the Eager Eight. With two already at the lodge, the other six of us met at the car rental location to start the brave journey. Upon reaching Joe Dodge Lodge, we all met up for a good dinner and got to meet some interesting people from around the globe. After dinner our routes were planned and the group split up according to routes. Before bed however, many of us enjoyed a glimpse of the Space Station as it soared overhead in the night sky.

The next morning, Group 1, Paula, and Chris Squared (Locklear and Bolton) left on their journey to Lions Head to reach Lake of the Clouds. The journey started off well for the early group, took many photos, enjoyed the view, and made it to the Lake of Clouds without incident. After getting the hut and dropping some gear, group 1 ate some lunch and prepared for the hike to Mt. Washington.

Group 2, Cheri, Jim, and Kristi started not too long after Group 1, aka PCC, and also took the Lions Head trail. Instead of heading straight to the hut, they went ahead and made it to the top of Mt Washington. On the way back down to the hut, Group 2 ran into Group 1 on their way to the top. They chatted for a short time in order to catch up.

Group 3, Ravi and Jason ran sweep and decided to take the trail that had one of the steepest inclines. Unfortunately, this decision helped to created group 4, also known as Just Jason. Upon reaching the top, Group 1 met up with Group 3, aka Ravi and all hiked back down to Lake of the Clouds to get settled in and spend a few minutes with PBS Guy, Mr. Willem Lange (click here for an article he wrote about Lake of the Clouds and mentions meeting us).

That night a vegetarian dinner was had by all and we all enjoyed an interesting skit that reminded us that if we didn't fold the blankets and leave a tip, some very strange looking mobsters would dunk our heads in water.

The next day the newly formed group, "Magnificent 7", hiked over 4 presidential peaks, in and out of clouds to reach The Mizpah Springs Hut. Upon arriving everyone took a lay of the land and pretty much relaxed until dinner. At dinner the not so very nice hut crew rushed us through and sent us to bed early, but not without an interesting lesson on Geology of the mountains. Not all hit the sack however, some enjoyed the clear night that we were blessed with and eventually crawled back inside. It is important to note that this was the night that Chris B. was proven NOT GUILTY of being the snorer... 

Read to hike the next morning, we journeyed to our final presidential peak and back to the hut to get our gear and head down to the highland center to met our trip leader, who probably faked the whole ankle thing just to pick up chicks.

Thanks to Jason for making it possible, and to sheer luck that we all got along so well for that many days in the woods. Look forward to seeing everyone on the next adventure!!!
