Our first-ever ranger-led night hike at Sweetwater Creek was a great success. The park usually closes to the public at dusk, but John arranged for this special hike just for our AOC group. Ranger Don followed John's plan for the route but supplied lots of information about various trees and plants as well as interesting facts about the history of the area. 

We welcomed out newest AOC member, Martin, who hails from Spain, and were happy to see Valerie, a new acquaintance to most of 
the group.

Hiking the Red and White trails was a unique experience as the sun dropped below the horizon and our headlamps and flashlights came out. Extra care had to be taken on the technical parts of the trail, but no one slipped, tripped, or fell.

We already have a large group for our second night hike at Sweetwater on June 17th, but a few spots are still available. It promises to be another enjoyable event with different trails, a different ranger, but your same happy trip leaders.~ Joyce
