Write Up:

A perfect day for a hike with 16 AOCers and two really cool waterfalls in south Fulton County. We saw dramatic greens, flowing water, old mill ruins, the remnants of a dam, a grinding mill stone, and lots and lots of very recent tornado damage requiring everyone to climb over and limbo under trees and branches. In the end, the trail became impassable requiring us all to turn back before getting to the marsh. Nonetheless, we all had a great time of sharing the woods with each other. Our trip co-leader and interpreter of all things Cochran Mill, Mr. John Stirman was able to educate us on the resurrection fern, holey trees, the history of the ruins, and the details of a specific "Waking Dead" episode that was filmed on location at one of the slippery waterfalls in the park.

After the hike, many of us ate some yummy food and traded more stories at the nearby Blue Eyed Daisy restaurant in the beautiful community.  For pictures of the trip click the link below:
