Our team shared a satisfying day taking the Approach Trail up to the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. We began our adventure at the top of Amicalola Falls going up and over Frosty Mountain. The weather was absolutely fabulous in every way. Well it did get a bit warm powering through the switchbacks up to Springer, but we cooled off quickly in the stiff breeze at the summit. A quick bite to eat and back down we went. 

Through Nimblewill Gap we went, and up the other side. We made a left at the Hike Inn Trail and made a beeline for the Inn. The trails around the Inn were filled with backpackers, familes, kids, dogs... everyone playing outside in the glorious weather. We paused to soak up the atmosphere - and perhaps some of us had a piece of cake - before heading out on the last leg of our journey.

We dispensed with the last four or so miles with efficiency.
