Write Up:

We had a good time together on this sequence of three short dayhikes, and the event worked out well as a convenient segue to the equally enjoyable AOC Summer Picnic!  It was fun having several newly active members with us for the hike & picnic, among them Clarisse and Emi (friends who both work for CDC) and Bonnie (Gloria and Jerry's neighbor).
We began by hiking the Park's nice 3/4-mile loop trail that begins and ends near the dining pavilion and winds sinuously up the heavily forested hill that overlooks the waterfront.  Next we walked down to the east bank of the Chattahoochee River below Morgan Falls dam and explored a little-known trail that extends from the river up the north bank of a pretty creek that flows down to the river from a higher-elevation lake.  We wrapped things up by hiking the wooded trail that meanders around the shore of the "Hooch's" huge Bull Sluice Lake, beginning ahd ending this hike at the Park's aquatic outfitter's building.
