It was a cold, wet afternoon, but 8 AOCers braved the weather, and came out to Mason Mill for our hike anyway.

We met at Mason Mill and got on the boardwalk to Melton Park. We crossed the creek to get over there with just one slight slip of the foot (from yours truly). We did a figure 8 at Melton before crossing the creek again (with no mishaps this time) and got back on the boardwalk to head over to Medlock Park, where we took to the dirt path on the outskirts of the park. Then we walked along the road towards Clyde Shepherd. However, we didn't quite make it there because the rain was coming down a bit harder now, and we were already thoroughly soaked and shivering. 

By the time we got back to Mason Mill and our warm vehicles, we had hiked 5 miles. We may not have been all smiles during this wet trek, but there were no grumbles from the hikers or growls from Monty (newcomer Sarah's dog) either.
