Well fantastic weather once again for our Friday hike.  This time we were hiking the trails of Sweetwater Creek.  After completing the entire Orange Trail loop, we headed down the yellow trail to the river, passing the Indian Cave along the way down.  We also took a side trail downstream a bit to get a better view of the New Manchester Mill ruins across Sweetwater Creek.  The water was running high from all the rain which made for a beautiful day hiking along the creek.

After crossing the bridge to get back to the West side trails, we headed back downstream to the Mill ruins.  Along the way we viewed and learned a bit about the construction of the mill race to the mill complex and spent some time looking at the ruins themselves.  Finally we took the White  trail (including an interesting "connector" trail) to finally reach the Visitor Center and the end of our hike.  In total, we covered about 6.7 miles and about 1000 feet of elevation gain for a most excellent day on the trails.

A special welcome to Patti who was on her very first AOC event.  We look forward to seeing you again out on the trails.  ~ Holt
