Write Up:The Blood Mountan did not fail us on this day of hiking! Starting with 12 hikers we had
to get a quick start at carpool.( skipping McDonald's) In order to get our parking spot at
The Byron Hubert Reese parking lot. When our group arrived we got the few remaining
spots. ( whew!!) The trail was busy with a plethora of junctions and people, but good
energy! Entering the east side of Blood was laborious but rewarding in views. Later we
took a relaxing lunch at the Pavilion at Lake Winfield Scott with a gorgeous view and a
cool breeze from the lake. After the fig newtons ( thanks Jeff), we took a slow ascending
hike up Slaughter and back to the cars. We had fun with Fardis's dog Charlie with his
fashionable trail wear! Overall good hike with a great group of hikers.
