Write Up:

We AOC hiking & nature fans greatly enjoyed our visit to this fascinating garden.  Spring blooming trilliums and jack-in-the-pulpits were at their colorful best on the forest floor, and looming above them were huge native azaleas and anise bushes in a variety of brilliant shades.  The dozens of different ferns were equally amazing, unfurling their new tan-green fiddleheads.  After our walk, we were treated to a wonderful hour-long slide show by one of the world's chief suppliers of native Southern azaleas, Mr. Ernest Koone, who propagates and pots the highly prized plants at his farm and nursery near Callaway Gardens, GA. - Submitted by Charlie, Fri night
