Things don't always go as planned. However our decision to skip the lower section of the hike due to floodwaters put us in the right place at the right time. While enjoying lunch at Jacks River Falls we noticed someone on the opposite side of the river in a place that it didn't make sense for them to be. Sensing something was wrong we investigated further and were able to determine that they were in trouble. We then spent the rest of our day working as a team to get them back to civilization safely.
We'll need to try this trip again later this year.
