We all enjoyed the lower humidity which made todays 5.5 mile hike of the Kolb Farm loop quite pleasant.  First we hiked the path that the union troops took on their assualt of Cheatham Hill during the battle of Kennesaw Mountain back in 1864.  After reaching the top of Cheatham hill, we all had an appreciation of the effort of those troops that charged that hill while under fire.  After stopping at the Illinois Monument, we started the hike of the Kolb Farm loop.  We saw a few deer out and about during our hike but not much other wildlife.  We finished our hike in a little under the planned 2 hours.
