I think this was our hottest day of the year. Our aim was to get in 5 miles on the hike, which we did, keeping a reasonable pace. But we were drenched with sweat soon into the hike.  We tackled the warm-up hill just because it was there, with no one challenging Susan this time.

This was an extra special hike, because we celebrated Suzanne's 600th AOC event today! She had to do a lot of maneuvering to have it fall on our Thursday morning hike. We're honored that she chose today to reach her event milestone. . . and we're very proud of her.

18 people gathered for lunch at tne North River Tavern following the hike - - a nice respite from the scorching heat. ~ Joyce
