Blood Mountain is the highest peak on the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail and the sixth-tallest mountain in Georgia, with an elevation of 4,458 feet. We started our hike to Blood mountain at 11:00 AM from lake Winfield scott (2854’) toward Jarrad Gap and AT, had lunch break in front of Blood mountain shelter and back to our cars via Slaughter Creek Trail, around 8 miles with a group of 10 hiking friends. Weather was great on top with a gorgeous view of green mountains. couldn’t be better than that. Thanks to carpool volunteer drivers Suchi, Victor and Leigh.
