Goodness it was hot for today's hike up and over the Kennesaw Mountain Peaks.  We had 13 hikers who headed up Pigeon Hill from the Burnt Hickory parking lot, continuing to the summit of Little Kennesaw and Big Kennesaw Mountains.  After a brief break at the 1800 foot summit of Big Kennesaw, we headed down to the Visitors Center via the Picket Line trail.  After breaking at the Visitors center, we hiked out the Brumby Trail and stopped at the site of the former CCC camp.

Continuing about another 2 miles we finally reached our cars and the end of our hike.  We got a special treat at the finish as Janet brought us chocolate covered blueberries.  Yum!  We covered about 6.5 miles and 1200 feet of elevation in about 2:45 hours of hiking.  ~ Holt
