Write Up:

Well once again we had beautiful weather for our walk in the woods as we circled Kennesaw Mountain.  We started by tackling Pigeon Hill, the site of some of the fiercest fighting during the battle of Kennesaw Mountain.  Next we headed out the Brunby Trail to the former CCC camp and learned a little about this camp that operated prior to WWII.  Then along the picket line trail (where we learned a little about pickets during the Civil War) and on to the visitors center where we took a break.

Next we headed out the 24 gun trail and into the "big field" where we saw remenants of federal earthworks and great views of Little Kennesaw Mountain.  After crossing Burnt Hickory, we took a old horse trail back to the Hardage Mill trail and back to the parking lot and our cars finishing our 7.5 mile walk around Kennesaw Mountain.

A special welcome to two new AOC members, Dianne and Mike who were on their second and third AOC events respectively.  Welcome and we look forward to seeing you on future AOC events.  ~ Holt
