Write Up:

Well what started out as a very rainy morning, cleared to a light drizzle by the time our hike started.  There were 9 brave souls who kept the faith with the weather and hiked today.  We started out by visiting a cemetary tucked off trail and back in the woods above the creek.  We then crossed Sweetwater Creek and headed up the yellow trail, diverting onto an old abandoned woods road to reach the ridge line.

We did the entire Orange loop and then back down to the creek on a very muddy and water logged trail.  Next it was the red trail to the mill itself, viewing a very water swollen mill race along the way.  After learning a little about how the mill operated before being burned in 1864, we headed back to the visitors center on the White trail.  We logged nearly 7 miles in about 2:50 hours and had some blue skies by the end of our hike.

We had two relatively new AOC members on todays hike.  Ann was on her 6th event and Karen was on her 4th.  Welcome!  ~ Holt
