Write Up:

Well the recent rains threw us a curve ball this morning at Johnson Ferry North.  We normally have multiple creek crossings on this hike which are normally easy to navigate by rock hopping.  Well this morning, many of those rocks (and pipes) were underwater so we had to go with a "Plan B" routing.  While there were a few wet feet along the way, no serious issues finishing the hike.  Along the way we learned a bit about the Power's family (that operated Powers Ferry) who lived at Hyde Farm back in the 1800's and bits and bobs about geology, botany, and farming in Cobb County.

We had to celebrations on today's hike.  Barbara was on her very first AOC event and we hope to see you on future AOC events very soon.  Also, Judy was completing her 100th AOC event.  I cannot hold a candle to Joyce on celebrations but we were able to gather up a borrowed bandana, a commerative rock found in the parking lot and an opportunity for Judy to hold up an invisible sign honoring her 100th (check out the photos). In any case the celebration was well intended.  ~  Holt
