What a good day for hiking, especially with a selective group. It was a day of fun! We started at the historical East Ridge Arch. This is where most of the thru hikers begin their journey too Katahin Maine. They sign in at the V/C and begin the approach trail starting at Springer Mtn. (2,200 miles) We hiked past Frosty, that's where we started to see our views.They were popping out everywhere! This could be seen only in winter.We made it to Len Foote where we celebrated Ann Howard's 700th AOC events. The Inn had plenty of desserts where she shared great stories in a very cozy atmosphere! On the return hike, we took the fall's stairs for the ending. (suggested by Suzanne) The club would like to welcome Greg P - he should do well. We met Nick, the Ridge Runner, for the A/T who is a valuable asset to the hiking community. Next week I'm taking a zero, solo Backpacking in the Backcountry. Happy Trails!
