Write Up:
Had a little bit of trouble getting started on time.  This was mainly due to the trip leader not specifying that he would be positioned on the 3rd row of the parking lot with a red xTerra with the hatch open.  Luckily, Scott Bennett the co-leader noticed a group of people standing over near the pay area and asked them to come to the xTerra to sign in.  So, we started 5 minutes later than planned, which is no big deal :-)  Lesson learned.  This was a strong group.  The first hill we climbed is the hardest hill in the area, and everyone zoomed right up it.  We topped it along with the next to the hardest hill, then descended to the river.  At this time we heard the familiar voice of Charlie Cottingham and others as they were floating down the river chilling out on their float down the hooch event.  From there we headed to the halfway point at the shoals.  We socialized for 15 minutes or so then headed back taking alternate routes trying to find the steepest way back possible. :-)  Back at the parking lot everyone seemed sweaty and satisfied that they had conquered the West Palisades with ease.  Thanks for coming out everyone.  Looking forward to more in the future.
